Your berth is not the city exit
Port Mobility says cruise shuttles connect docks 10, 11, 12, 12bis, 13, 13bis and 25 with Largo della Pace. They are scheduled around ship calls, so there is no universal wait-time promise.
High — berth and shuttle dispatch change with the day’s ships.
Port to rail station needs its own allowance
The cruise-only CSP bus is published at about 15 minutes, roughly every 20–25 minutes, and €6 each way. The official 1.5 km walk is listed at 10–20 minutes; ShoreClock budgets a more conservative 20–30 minutes.
High — hours, crowding, traffic and the boarding point must be checked on arrival.
Rome transport is not a turn-up-and-go promise
The 2026 SIT timetable has only two morning departures and early-afternoon returns. For independent travel, ShoreClock’s conservative model starts the trip back from central Rome at least 3h30 before all aboard, or 4h with extra risk.
High — timetable, engineering work, strikes and road traffic can remove the route’s spare time.
Old Express and ticket-price advice is stale
Trenitalia says Civitavecchia Express was suspended from 9 June 2024. ATAC currently lists the five-zone BIRG at €14, not the €12 still shown in some older port guides.
Medium — recheck the service status and current ATAC fare before publication or travel.
